Bell Work
Cougar Consultant Circle
1. Number off in each team from one to seven (or eight).
2. Teacher One has two minutes to share his/her objective/topic. No one interrupts.
3. Then, all “consultants” spend two minutes asking clarifying questions.
(Note: “Have you thought about . . ?” is a suggestion, not a request for clarification).
4. The group has 1 minute of silent writing time to respond to Teacher One’s idea. Consider ideas from your infographics and flexibility in representation. Write ideas on a sticky note. Use the following stems:
· Here is something I’ve done . . .
· I like how you . . .
· You might consider . . .
5. All sticky notes are passed to the teacher who shared.
6. Repeat with the next teacher.

Lesson Design Instructions
Your lesson plan should meet the following criteria:
1) You must attempt to start the lesson design from scratch instead of retrofitting a previous lesson.
2) The lesson plan must include all brain networks, emphasizing implementing flexibility in representation (which means providing avenues of access to information for ALL of our students, think about the building pictures).
3) The lesson must be something you intend to actually teach within the first 3 weeks of school.
Please take a printed copy of your lesson plan with you to your department huddle at 3:15 PM. Be prepared to share and discuss with your colleagues.
